Hastings scores 31, Robert Morris knocks off Detroit Mercy 102-99 in 2OT

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) — Markeese Hastings' 31 points led Robert Morris past Detroit Mercy 102-99 in double overtime on Wednesday night to send the winless Titans to their 19th-straight defeat this season.

Justice Williams made two foul shots with three seconds left in the second extra session for the Colonials' three-point lead before Detroit Mercy's Marcus Tankersley missed a 3-pointer and a chance to tie it.

Hastings also contributed 15 rebounds for the Colonials (7-12, 3-5 Horizon League). TJ Wainwright added 30 points while shooting 9 for 14 (4 for 7 from 3-point range) and 8 of 8 from the free throw line. Williams scored 16 points

Jayden Stone led the way for the Titans (0-19, 0-8) with 36 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals. Tankersley added 29 points for Detroit Mercy. In addition, Mak Manciel finished with 16 points and five assists.

Both teams play Saturday. Robert Morris visits IUPUI and Detroit Mercy hosts Youngstown State.
