Napper's 19 points lead Longwood past Delaware State 62-61

DOVER, Del. (AP) — Walyn Napper's 19 points helped Longwood defeat Delaware State 62-61 on Saturday.

Napper shot 7 for 8 (4 for 5 from 3-point range) and 1 of 3 from the free throw line for the Lancers (9-1). Jesper Granlund shot 3 for 5, including 3 for 4 from beyond the arc to add 10 points. Johnathan Massie was 4 of 13 shooting (0 for 4 from 3-point range) to finish with nine points, while adding seven rebounds. The Lancers picked up their ninth straight victory.

Martez Robinson led the way for the Hornets (6-7) with 22 points, seven assists and two steals. Delaware State also got 11 points and four steals from Deywilk Tavarez. Khyrie Staten also recorded seven points and three steals.

Longwood next plays Monday against Gallaudet at home, and Delaware State will visit Wake Forest on Monday.
