Thomas and Betrand score 14 as Norfolk State beats Howard 65-61

WASHINGTON (AP) — Jamarii Thomas and Allen Betrand both scored 14 points to help Norfolk State defeat Howard 65-61 on Saturday night.

Thomas was 5 of 11 shooting, including 2 for 4 from 3-point range, and went 2 for 4 from the line for the Spartans (12-8, 2-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Betrand shot 5 of 11 from the floor, including 2 for 5 from 3-point range, and 2 for 3 from the line. Christian Ings had 11 points and shot 3 of 7 from the field and 4 for 6 from the line.

The Bison (8-12, 2-2) were led by Bryce Harris, who posted 21 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks. Howard also got 11 points from Marcus Dockery.
