Walker scores 42 to lift UAB past Middle Tennessee 97-75
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Jordan Walker had a career-high and UAB program high 42 points on 14-for-23 shooting — including 8 for 16 from 3-point range — and UAB romped over Middle Tennessee 97-75 on Saturday.
Walker's point total broke the previous record of 41 points held by current UAB head coach Andy Kennedy when he was a player and Robert Vaden. Kennedy scored 41 against Saint Louis on Jan. 13, 1991.
Walker has scored at least 20 points in seven straight games.
Quan Jackson had 14 points and 10 rebounds for UAB (18-5, 8-2 Conference USA), which earned its sixth consecutive home victory. The Blazers have won five of their last six overall.
Josh Jefferson had 19 points and six rebounds for the Blue Raiders (14-7, 5-3), whose five-game winning streak ended. Eli Lawrence added 14 points and Donovan Sim 13.
