Abilene Christian pulls away in 4th quarter, beats North Alabama 30-13
ABILENE, Texas (AP) — Maverick McIvor threw two touchdown passes, Rovaughn Banks Jr. ran 52 yards for a fourth-quarter score and Abilene Christian pulled away for a 30-13 victory over North Alabama on Saturday.
Abilene Christian (3-3, 1-1 United Athletic Conference) took a 16-13 lead late in the third quarter on a 37-yard field goal by Kyle Ramsey. McIvor upped the Wildcats' lead to 23-13 with a 30-yard scoring strike to Tristan Golightly in the fourth quarter. Banks wrapped up the win with his long touchdown run with 4:36 left to play.
McIvor completed 12 of 24 passes for 206 yards for Abilene Christian. Banks finished with 78 yards on 10 carries. Jed Castles had the other touchdown catch, a 38-yarder in the second quarter.
Noah Walters completed 28 of 43 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns for the Lions (2-5, 0-3), but he was intercepted four times — two of them by Cirby Coheley. Demarcus Lacey carried 18 times for 77 yards.
The Wildcats finished with 423 yards of offense, 90 more than North Alabama.
