Brown's TD carries UAB past Temple 34-24

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Jermaine Brown ran for 153 yards and his touchdown with under three minutes left put the finishing touches on UAB's 34-24 win over Temple on Saturday.

Brown was one of 11 seniors playing their final home game.

Temple (3-8, 1-6 American Athletic Conference) took the early lead on E.J. Warner's 71-yard touchdown pass to Dante Wright on the Owls' opening possession. Warner's 47-yard touchdown pass to David Martin-Robinson sent them into intermission with a 14-10 lead.

Jacob Zeno found Tejhuan Palmer with a 22-yard touchdown pass to start the fourth quarter to put UAB in front, 24-17, but Temple rallied to tie the game at 24-all on a 1-yard run by Martin-Robinson.

Zeno finished the game 20-of-28 passing for 246 yards and a touchdown to lead UAB (4-7, 3-4). Brown needed 20 carries to gain 153 yards and Lee Beebe added 10 carries for 70 yards as the Blazers ran for 259 yards and had 505 yards of offense with a balanced attack.

Warner was 25 of 46 for 323 yards and two touchdowns and an interception for Temple. Wright caught six passes for 146 yards.
