Jacobian Morgan's two TDs lead Jackson State past Mississippi Valley State, 21-6

ITTA BENA, Miss. (AP) — Jacobian Morgan threw for one touchdown and ran for a second as Jackson State cruised to a 21-6 win over Mississippi Valley State on Saturday.

The Tigers (5-3, 3-2 Southwestern Athletic Conference) shut out the Delta Devils through three quarters before DePhabian Fant sprang free for a 52-yard touchdown run with 28 seconds left in the game.

Desmond Moultrie scored from 11 yards out in the first quarter and Morgan capped a seven-play, 57-yard drive with a 14-yard touchdown run midway through the second quarter to stake Jackson State to a 14-0 halftime lead. Morgan added a 14-yard touchdown pass to Joanes Fortilien early in the fourth quarter.

Fant took the Delta Devils (1-6, 1-3) 97 yards in two plays for their lone score. He broke free for a 45-yard run before his 52-yard score.

Morgan completed 20 of 36 passes for 141 yards and added 10 carries for 75 yards. He fumbled four times, with Mississippi Valley State recovering two.

Ty'Jarian Williams was 16 of 27 for 155 yards but threw three interceptions. Fant had four carries for 99 yards.
