McMillan, Central Michigan knock off Eastern Michigan 65-62 in OT

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) — Paul McMillan IV scored 25 points, including eight in overtime, as Central Michigan knocked off Eastern Michigan 65-62 in the regular season finale for both schools Friday night.

McMillan hit a 3-pointer with 1:05 left in regulation to tie the game at 55-55 and force the extra period.

McMillan added nine rebounds and six assists for the Chippewas (18-13, 12-6 Mid-American Conference). Brian Taylor scored 14 points while shooting 5 for 14 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 3 of 5 from the free-throw line and added 22 rebounds and three blocks. Derrick Butler went 5 of 15 from the field (2 for 8 from 3-point range) to finish with 12 points, while adding six rebounds.

Arne Osojnik led the Eagles (13-18, 6-12) in scoring, finishing with 15 points. Yusuf Jihad added 13 points for Eastern Michigan. Jalin Billingsley also had 11 points, six rebounds, two steals and two blocks.

Central Michigan entered halftime up 29-23. Butler paced the team in scoring in the first half with eight points. McMillan led Central Michigan with 11 second-half points and also hit the game-tying 3-pointer with 1:09 left in regulation to send the game to overtime. McMillan scored their eight overtime points while shooting 2 of 4 from the field and 4 for 4 from the line.
