Poffenbarger's 4 TDs lead Albany past Stony Brook, 59-14
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Reece Poffenbarger threw for four of Albany's five touchdown passes, three of them to Julian Hicks, as the Great Danes rolled to a 59-14 rout of Stony Brook on Saturday.
The leading passer in the Colonial Athletic Association coming into the game, Poffenbarger was 16 of 21 for 263 yards and has now thrown for 2,315 yards and 20 touchdowns in eight games and has surpassed 250 passing yards in seven straight contests.
Anthony Lang picked off a Charlie McKee pass and returned it 51 yards for Albany's second touchdown.
Jackson Parker caught six passes for 84 yards and a touchdown and Hicks pulled in four passes, three for touchdowns, for 52 yards.
McKee was 7 of 15 passing for 67 yards and had four passes picked off. Daron Bryden came on to complete 7 of 13 passes for 57 yards and a late touchdown.
Albany held Stony Brook to just 234 yards of total offense.
