South Alabama defeats Southern Miss 83-64

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Samuel Tabe's 29 points helped South Alabama defeat Southern Miss 83-64 on Thursday night.

Tabe added five rebounds for the Jaguars (14-14, 6-9 Sun Belt Conference). Isiah Gaiter shot 3 for 5 (2 for 3 from 3-point range) and 9 of 12 from the free throw line to add 17 points. Tyrell Jones had 12 points and was 4 of 12 shooting, including 2 for 4 from 3-point range, and went 2 for 5 from the line.

The Golden Eagles (15-13, 8-7) were led in scoring by Cobie Montgomery, who finished with 14 points. Southern Miss also got 13 points and 12 rebounds from Victor Hart. Austin Crowley also had 11 points.
