Williams scores 31, Texas A&M-Commerce defeats Northwestern State 83-80 in OT
COMMERCE, Texas (AP) — Kalen Williams' 31 points led Texas A&M-Commerce over Northwestern State 83-80 in overtime on Wednesday night.
The Lions' Tommie Lewis hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the game to overtime and both teams scored the same number of points in the overtime periods as they had in the second half.
Williams also contributed seven rebounds for the Lions (12-19, 6-12 Southland Conference). Tommie Lewis scored 13 points and added nine rebounds and three steals. Khaliq Abdul-Mateen shot 4 for 7, including 3 for 6 from beyond the arc to finish with 12 points.
Justin Wilson finished with 29 points, eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks for the Demons (9-22, 7-11). Northwestern State also got 25 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks from Chase Forte. Cliff Davis had 10 points, seven rebounds and three steals.
