Cowboys' Tony Pollard, Raiders' Davante Adams among best bets to score in Week 4 of NFL season
The hits keep coming but so do the fantasy windfalls, and this week’s group of TD specialists could cure what ails. These are the best bets to score in Week 4 of the NFL season.
___
Running Back
TONY POLLARD, COWBOYS
Pollard, who has scored twice already this season, is likely to be the main source of offense for Dallas against a Patriots team that always aims to stop your best offensive playmaker. In the Cowboys’ case, that’s CeeDee Lamb, and the area where the Pats have been the weakest is against the run, so Pollard has some leeway there. Only two backs have been on the field more often than Pollard (77% snap count) this season, so he’s going to get opportunities.
NAJEE HARRIS, STEELERS
Harris is looking for his first score of the season, and in Week 4 he’s got the best chances to do so yet this season, against the Texans. Houston is our eighth-best matchup for opposing running backs, having given up the third-most TDs (five) on the ground, so Harris could have a field day between the tackles. The Steelers are coming into a more balanced attack offensively, so Harris should continue to see increased chances.
CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY, 49ERS
McCaffrey is on this list often, and he’s back once again, as we just can’t ignore the matchup he has this week against the Cardinals. Arizona is our sixth-best matchup for opposing runners, allowing 20.6 FPts/game, and McCaffrey’s actually averaging more than that in PPR formats (21.7 FPts/game).
___
Wide Receiver
DAVANTE ADAMS, RAIDERS
Adams produced more fantasy points in every successive game this season, and he’s coming off a huge game of 13 catches for 172 yards and two touchdowns in Week 3. Responsible for three TDs on the season, Adams has his best matchup of the season this week against the Chargers, our absolute best matchup for opposing wide receivers coming into Week 4. The 35.86% TD-dependent Adams has minus-105 odds to find the end zone, the best odds for any wide receiver this week.
JA’MARR CHASE, BENGALS
Chase has yet to score a TD this season, but that could change this week against a Titans team that is seventh best against the run, but is our fourth-best matchup in the air. The forecast is clear, as Chase is coming off his highest fantasy scoring performance of the season in Week 3, where he caught 12 passes for 141 yards, and he has minus-105 odds to find the end zone, tied with Adams for best among wide receivers.
ADAM THIELEN, PANTHERS
Thielen hasn’t made an appearance on this list in some time, but he’s due as he’s scored in consecutive games now, his most-recent effort being 11 catches for 145 yards and a touchdown against Seattle. Facing Minnesota, our third-best matchup for opposing wide receivers this week, Thielen, who’s averaged 90.5% of offensive snaps for Carolina thus far, is primed to continue to have a resurgence in his fantasy stock, especially if Andy Dalton makes another start.
