NEEDS: The Jacksonville Jaguars cut linebacker Myles Jack one day after Atlanta linebacker Foyesade Oluokun agreed to sign with the team when the new league year begins Wednesday. Releasing Jack will cost the Jags $4.8 million in dead money and save them $8.35 million against the salary cap. The team also tendered restricted free agent safety Andrew Wingard and signed receiver Terry Godwin to a contract extension. Jacksonville previously added four potential starters around quarterback Trevor Lawrence to open the NFL’s legal tampering period before free agency. Receiver Christian Kirk, former All-Pro guard Brandon Scherff, oft-injured tight end Evan Engram and receiver Zay Jones agreed to sign with Jacksonville. The signings can't become official until the new league year. They also are bringing in New York Jets defensive tackle Folorunso “Foley” Fatukasi. The six-man free-agent class could be key to the team’s turnaround. The Jaguars are expected to use the No. 1 pick in next month’s NFL draft on a pass rusher, likely either Alabama left tackle Evan Neal or Michigan pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson.
AVAILABLE SALARY CAP SPACE (approximately): $13.6 million.
