Lacazette scores as Lyon wins 3rd straight game to go 6th
PARIS (AP) — Veteran striker Alexandre Lacazette was involved in both goals as Lyon secured a third straight French league win with a 2-1 victory at Toulouse on Friday.
The 31-year-old former Arsenal forward converted a penalty in the 34th minute for his 19th league goal since re-joining Lyon in the offseason.
Lyon moved up to sixth place in the chase for a Europa League spot next season.
Lacazette's goal put him level at the top of the scoring charts with Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé and Lille's Jonathan David, who play this weekend.
Lacazette missed a free header just two minutes after scoring and Lyon's lead was soon erased when Morocco striker Zakaria Aboukhlal pounced in the 37th.
Lyon's winner came in the 88th when 19-year-old midfielder Rayan Cherki tried to pick out Lacazette at the back post, and defender Logan Costa scored an own goal.
League leader Paris Saint-Germain hosts second-place Lens on Saturday, where a win would move Lens coach Franck Haise's side three points behind PSG.
Lille hosts Montpellier on Sunday.
