On a can't-miss edition of 205 Live, former Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese prevailed against newcomer Ari Sterling, while Asher Hale was victorious in his debut match against Ariya Daivari.

Asher Hale def. Ariya Daivari

Ariya Daivari has made no secrets of his bitter disdain toward 205 Live rookies, and after what happened in his match against the debuting Asher Hale, The Persian Prince seems likely to hold newcomers in even higher contempt.

Decked out in a black vest and sporting several tattoos, Hale hung with Daivari from bell to bell, though he was left reeling after receiving several clubbing blows and the Persian Splash from Daivari Dinero.

The nine-year veteran and self-described “rebel” fought through the pain, however, and he clobbered his foe with an impressive array of suplexes and ducked Daivari’s attempt at a Hammerlock Lariat before rolling him up for the three-count!

Tony Nese def. Ari Sterling

Score one for The 205 Live OGs, as Tony Nese got redemption for Daivari’s loss to Hale by picking up a tough win over Ari Sterling, who was competing in his second match on 205 Live after defeating Samir Singh last week.

Just as he did seven days ago, Sterling took to the skies early and often, and the strategy paid dividends when he sent Nese careening to the canvas with a hurricanrana from the top rope and when he moonsaulted off the inside of the middle rope to flatten The Premier Athlete at ringside.

Nese, however, derailed Sterling with a thumb to the eye, suplexed him neck-first into the bottom turnbuckle and blasted him with Running Nese to pick up the victory.
