Boa def. Jeet Rama
As he continues to take direction from the ominous Mei Ying, Boa seems to get more vicious by the minute … which is exactly what he did during his bout against Jeet Rama.
Rama, who competed on 205 Live for the first time and made jaws drop when he took AJ Styles to the limit in a loss at WWE Superstar Spectacle, didn’t seem to be intimidated by Boa. He even out-grappled the NXT 2.0 and 205 Live veteran in the early goings, leaving him reeling with a trio of powerful suplexes.
Boa, however, recovered in time to blast his foe with a kick to the knee and a match-clinching boot to the side of the head.
Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen def. Keagan Scott & Taylor Garland
If Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen are looking to send a message to the other tag teams in NXT 2.0, mission accomplished.
Tangling with a pair of local competitors, Brooks and Jensen effortlessly brutalized their overmatched foes from pillar to post, an attack that was highlighted by a vicious powerslam by Jensen and a savage clothesline from Briggs.
The entertaining new duo concluded the beatdown with a unique chokeslam-powerbomb combo.
NXT Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong def. Odyssey Jones
Malcolm Bivens wants his prized pupil to be ready for anything.
Case in point, he insisted that NXT Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong take on the massive Odyssey Jones in a non-title donnybrook.
Even with his Diamond Mine cohorts at ringside, Strong faced an enormous uphill battle, as his attempt at a shoulder block resulted in Jones sending him careening through the air and crashlanding on the mat.
Despite giving up significant size, strength and weight, Strong meticulously attacked Jones’ knee to gain the advantage, and after withstanding one more barrage and a big splash from his opponent, the NXT Cruiserweight Champion connected with a leaping knee to earn the pinfall.
