Adam Cole def. Carmelo Hayes

Adam Cole initially insisted on deciding not to face anyone since no one in NXT is "on his level," but Carmelo Hayes changed his mind quickly with a challenge and a slap to the face. Though Cole controlled much of the action, Hayes rallied back late with a furious rally until the former NXT Champion blasted him with a superkick and the Panama Sunrise for the win.

Pete Dunne & Oney Lorcan confronted Johnny Gargano & Austin Theory

Johnny Gargano reminisced about how NXT thrived under his watch as champion years ago, suggesting the black-and-gold brand was due to return to those halcyon times — particularly after he showed up Karrion Kross at NXT TakeOver: In Your House. Pete Dunne disagreed, arguing he should be next in line for an NXT Title opportunity. Though Gargano & Austin Theory decided discretion was the better part of valor under NXT's new era, Dunne gave Theory a parting gift by splaying his fingers.

Io Shirai & Zoey Stark def. The Robert Stone Brand

The Genius of the Sky returned to in-ring action for the first time since NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver more than two months ago, and it was immediately apparent she hadn't missed a beat. Aliyah & Jessi Kamea outwitted the less experienced duo of Shirai & Zoey Stark until Shirai took over, putting Kamea away with a picture-perfect moonsault.

With NXT Women's Tag Team Champions Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell already on hand to scout the competition, NXT Women's Champion Raquel Gonzalez & Dakota Kai and Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon also joined the fray, which quickly degenerated into a chaotic brawl.

The Way def. Pete Dunne & Oney Lorcan

With NXT General Manager William Regal ordering this match as a result of the earlier altercation, the NXT Universe was in for a treat. Dunne & Lorcan dominated much of the bout until Gargano caught fire. The match reached a break-neck pace, with Gargano spiking Lorcan with the One Final Beat DDT to seal the victory.

Franky Monet def. Elektra Lopez

The encore was just as hard-hitting as the premiere for Franky Monet, who impressed once again in her second bout in NXT. Monet took care of business against Elektra Lopez, planting her with her own version of a Glam Slam to remain unbeaten.

Hit Row def. Ever-Rise

Ever-Rise's bid for payback on Hit Row missed the mark as Top Dolla & Ashante "Thee" Adonis were absolutely dominant, putting Matt Martel away with a devastating double team powerbomb into a neckbreaker.

Kyle O Reilly def. NXT Cruiserweight Champion Kushida in a Non-Title Match; Diamond Mine attacked Kushida

The dream match lived up to the hype with both competitors treating the audience to an expert showcase of counters, reversals and hard-hitting strikes, as well as a devastating bridging hammerlock suplex on the apron by Kushida.

Kyle O'Reilly appeared to be in dire straits as NXT's resident Time Splitter applied the Hoverboard Lock, only for O'Reilly to masterfully transition into a roll-up for the win, leaving Kushida in disbelief.

The two Superstars exchanged respect until Adam Cole blindsided O'Reilly, and the bitter rivals brawled throughout the Capitol Wrestling Center with two weeks remaining before their showdown at NXT Great American Bash.

Meanwhile, a hooded figure hit the ring and decimated Kushida, later revealing himself to be Roderick Strong, whom the NXT Universe hasn't seen in months. Accompanied by Tyler Rust, Malcolm Bivens and another man, it was clear that The Diamond Mine had finally arrived in NXT.

Kyle O'Reilly steps to NXT Cruiserweight Champion Kushida in non-title match

Kyle O'Reilly wants to face the best in the world, and that's why he called out Kushida.

O'Reilly will face the NXT Cruiserweight Champion in a non-title bout next Tuesday night on NXT.

With NXT General Manager William Regal barring O'Reilly and Adam Cole from contact ahead of their rematch at NXT's Great American Bash, O'Reilly is looking to stay on top of his game in preparation for the battle against his former friend.

That brought him to the doorstep of the NXT Cruiserweight Champion, who has taken on and conquered all comers since besting Santos Escobar for the title.

Will O'Reilly pick up a major victory before he goes to war against Cole? Or will NXT's resident Time Splitter deal him a devastating setback?

Adam Cole returns to in-ring action tonight on NXT

Adam Cole is once again set to go to war with former best friend Kyle O'Reilly.

But before they renew their rivalry at NXT's Great American Bash, Cole will return to the ring next week on NXT against an opponent of his choice.

The former NXT Champion will be looking to make a statement before he goes head to head with O'Reilly. Just who will The Panama City Playboy choose to face?

Io Shirai and Zoey Stark to battle The Robert Stone Brand

Last week, Zoey Stark provided some much-needed backup for Io Shirai against The Way. Tonight, they'll officially team up against Aliyah & Jessi Kamea of The Robert Stone Brand.

Shirai returned earlier this month and immediately went to war with long-time rival Candice LeRae. LeRae sought to make The Genius of the Sky pay last week with a two-on-one assault alongside fellow NXT Women's Tag Team Champion Indi Hartwell.

But the cavalry arrived in the form of Stark, who has teamed up with Shirai in the past, and together they fought off the NXT Women's Tag Team Champions.

Meanwhile, The Robert Stone Brand have coveted those titles for some time now and are surely looking to take a step closer toward a potential opportunity. Can they take down Shirai & Stark?

Franky Monet's World Premiere Encore set for tonight

Franky Monet has made a big impression in a short time on NXT, and tonight she'll return to in-ring action on the black-and-gold brand.

Last month in her "World Premiere," Monet knocked off Cora Jade for an impressive win in her first NXT bout.

She's continued to stir up the scene around the black-and-gold brand since, most recently stirring things up with The Robert Stone Brand.

What will she have in store for tonight's encore?

Ever-Rise seeks retribution in tag action against Hit Row

Hit Row left Ever-Rise lying prior to NXT TakeOver: In Your House. Now, Chase Parker & Matt Martel are out for payback in the ring — and they're hoping it goes better than an earlier attempt outside the Capitol Wrestling Center today.

They'll challenge Top Dolla & Ashante "Thee" Adonis of Hit Row tonight on NXT.

Earlier, Parker & Martel looked to desecrate Hit Row's ride, only to find that Top Dolla himself was still in the car before fleeing from the big powerhouse.

Will they have better luck otnight inside the squared-circle?
