All-out chaos ensued after Io Shirai confronted Mandy Rose
Io Shirai’s disdain for Toxic Attraction runs deep. After Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne took her and Zoey Stark’s NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles, the pair took it to another level by jumping Stark backstage and leaving her down for the count.
An enraged Shirai stormed the ring, interrupting Mandy Rose’s championship celebration to demand a match with the leader of Toxic Attraction.
Before the match could get underway, Rose smashed Shirai with her microphone. The brawl between the two Superstars escalated until Dolin and Jayne stepped in to help beat down Shirai. Helpless against the 3-on-1 assault, Shirai finally received some backup in the form of Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter.
Dakota Kai Def. Cora Jade
Dakota Kai announced her return in dramatic fashion at Halloween Havoc, and in her first in-ring action on NXT 2.0, she unleashed a new ferocity on young upstart Cora Jade.
After a vicious superkick knocked out Jade for the pin, Kai went on to drag NXT’s youngest Superstar outside the ring and place her underneath a table. Staring down on Jade from atop the ring apron, Kai appeared to have second thoughts and instead left Jade sprawled on the floor as she walked back up the ramp.
Xyon Quinn def. Robert Stone
Xyon Quinn proved to Robert Stone who was the better Superstar on the mic and in the ring after besting Stone in song, dance and competition. With Quinn’s version of Shawn Michaels’ “Sexy Boy” still ringing in his ears, a frustrated Stone slapped Quinn and looked to make a quick getaway.
Quinn caught Stone before he could make it through the ropes, launching him across the ring multiple times before putting him down with a devastating jackhammer.
Legado del Fantasma def. Von Wagner & Kyle O’Reilly
In an argument that began on Twitter, Von Wagner & Kyle O’Reilly set out to prove to Legado del Fantasma that even though they were new, they were still the hottest tag team on the block.
Both sides put on a major display of skill and power, but the inexperience of the new partners eventually came back to haunt the duo. As they took time to set up for a tandem move, they experienced a lapse in concentration that allowed Legado del Fantasma to take advantage, as Joaquin Wilde rolled up Wagner for the win.
Bron Breakker def. Andre Chase
Andre Chase stepped into the ring looking to deliver a lesson about grit and guts to his Chase University students, and his message was put to the test when his open challenge was answered by Bron Breakker.
After coming up short in his NXT Title Match last week, Breakker took out his frustrations on Chase, manhandling him across the ring before planting him with a gorilla powerslam for the 1-2-3.
Afterward, Breakker took to the mic to say that he’s still coming for NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa.
Solo Sikoa def. Jeet Rama
Solo Sikoa announced his presence at Halloween Havoc, but in his debut match against Jeet Rama, he truly let NXT 2.0 know what he was capable of.
Sikoa made quick work of Rama with some vicious knee strikes and a collision in the corner before climbing the top rope and flattening Rama with a splash.
Boa def. Grayson Waller
Without Mei Ying by his side, Boa still took it to Grayson Waller in the early portion of the match.
As Waller began to pick up momentum, LA Knight stepped away from the commentary table to exchange a few words with him. Boa seized upon the distraction, knocking Waller off the ropes and delivering a thunderous kick to score the pinfall.
Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams def. Johnny Gargano & Dexter Lumis
Despite a pre-match altercation with NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa, Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams tried to back up their claims that the North American Championship is now the “A” title in NXT when they battled Johnny Gargano & Dexter Lumis.
The rivals put on a classic tag team performance, as father and son-in-law worked together to take it to Hayes & Williams. It eventually came down to Johnny Wrestling and the North American Champion exchanging punches, chops and kicks in the center of the ring.
After leveling Hayes with a clothesline, Gargano tagged in Lumis, who locked in Silence. With Hayes fading, Williams took advantage of a distracted referee and struck Lumis with his shoe. Hayes then hit a leg drop off the top rope and covered Lumis for the win.
