Ashton Smith and Oliver Carter def. Symbiosis in an NXT UK Tag Team Championship Eliminator Semifinal Match
Though they’ve been partners since 2019 without winning championship gold, Ashton Smith and Oliver Carter will never have their perseverance called into question.
Tasked with absorbing menacing strikes and ring-shaking slams from their bruising counterparts – not to mention distractions from the meddling Eddie Dennis – Carter and Smith persevered for what was arguably the biggest victory of their careers in an NXT UK Tag Team Championship Eliminator Semifinal Match.
With all four competitors brawling in and around the squared circle, Smith took T-Bone out of the equation with a fearless dive through the ropes that sent his opponent careening to the ringside floor. Seconds later, Smith hoisted Primate onto his shoulders, teeing him up for Carter to soar through the skies and drop him with “Ash Carter” for the victory.
Xia Brookside def. Myla Grace
After weeks of campaigning and badgering NXT UK Assistant to the General Manager Sid Scala, Xia Brookside finally got what she wanted: an NXT UK Women’s Championship Match against Meiko Satomura (though after coming up short in her title bout, Brookside was quick to claim that she was at an unfair disadvantage due to only being given a week to prepare).
In the early goings of her match against energetic newcomer Myla Grace, Brookside appeared to still be reeling from her disappointing loss, as Grace staggered her foe with a series of clotheslines and a modified 619.
Brookside withstood the early charge and showed off her newfound mean streak by ruthlessly stomping her opponent, screaming at the fans to shut up, and yanking Grace off the turnbuckle before landing Broken Wings for the victory.
NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura def. Blair Davenport
Brutalizing authority figures? Getting suspended? Carrying out savage post-match attacks on her vanquished foes? It all adds up to just another day at the office for Blair Davenport.
It seems the anarchistic (and previously undefeated) competitor finally met her match in a barnburner of a title fight with NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura.
With the NXT UK Universe at a fever pitch, Davenport left the champion in dire straits with a kick to the face and a draping DDT from the apron to the ringside floor that yielded a two-count.
The Final Boss showed her mettle by fighting her way out of an excruciating STF and withstanding a vicious knee to the jaw, however, and Satomura sealed the hard-earned title retention by rocking her foe with a forearm strike and reversing Davenport’s rollup attempt for the pinfall.
To the surprise of no one, Davenport was in a foul mood after the bell, as the ruthless competitor attacked Satomura from behind and blasted her with several knee strikes to the face before holding the championship over her head and dropping it on top of The Best in the World.
