WWE Champion Brock Lesnar traded words with Paul Heyman
The Beast marched back to Raw as WWE Champion, but before he could truly get his celebration underway, his former advocate, Paul Heyman, emerged with some interesting news. Heyman informed Brock Lesnar that, before he faces Universal Champion Roman Reigns in a Winner Take All Title vs. Title Match at WrestleMania 38, he must defend his WWE Title next Saturday when WWE returns live to Madison Square Garden!
The Beast also learned that Bobby Lashley is scheduled to get his championship rematch that night if he is able to clear concussion protocol, but Heyman assured Lesnar that he will make sure there is a championship opponent lined up no matter what. The Beast Incarnate retorted by letting Heyman know that he will be rolling into SmackDown this Friday to confront The Head of the Table on The Road to WrestleMania.
Raw Tag Team Champions Alpha Academy def. The Street Profits
Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford wanted all the smoke they could get from Raw Tag Team Champions Otis & Chad Gable, but they may have gotten more than they bargained for. The Street Profits put up a good fight against the champs, but it all culminated when Ford shocked the WWE Universe by picking up Otis for a big scoop slam. However, the weight of the tree trunk was too much as Otis came crashing down on top of Ford to score the pinfall victory with help from Gable, who held Ford’s foot to the mat from ringside.
Finn Bálor & Tommaso Ciampa def. Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode
It was an eventful night for former NXT Champions, as Tommaso Ciampa brought Finn Bálor back to Raw for a tag team showdown against The Dirty Dawgs just one night before Ciampa is scheduled to battle Dolph Ziggler on NXT 2.0. A fired-up Bálor turned in a spirited effort, but Ciampa scored the decisive pinfall when he triumphed over Robert Roode.
The Miz & Logan Paul challenged Rey & Dominik Mysterio to a match at WrestleMania 38
After promising to bring in a global superstar to join him in the fight against Rey & Dominik Mysterio, The Miz delivered on his vow by welcoming social media megastar Logan Paul back to Raw. Miz actually issued a challenge to The Mysterios for a tag team match at WrestleMania 38 before Rey & Dominik even knew who The A-Lister was referring to, and that cued Paul to make his triumphant return to Raw.
After Paul completely disrespected The Master of the 619, Dominik was quick to accept the challenge before Miz and his new partner viciously attacked the father and son. Miz dropped Rey with a Skull-Crushing Finale before Logan Paul then showed off one of his own at the expense of Dominik.
Rhea Ripley def. Nikki A.S.H.
Coming off a highly impressive Gauntlet Match performance last week and fresh off a strong showing inside the Elimination Chamber, Rhea Ripley aimed to bounce back in a big way against her former friend, Nikki A.S.H. The Nightmare did just that as she overcame her bitter rival by delivering her devastating Riptide to The Almost Superhero.
United States Champion Damian Priest def. Shelton Benjamin
United States Champion Damian Priest tested himself once again by going toe-to-toe with former Hurt Business member, Shelton Benjamin. Cedric Alexander may have been in Benjamin’s corner, but the numbers were not enough as Priest connected with the Reckoning to earn the victory.
Following the match, Priest claimed that would be defending his United States Title again next week and called for anyone to step up to the plate. This drew the ire of Finn Bálor, who emerged to accept the challenge and set the stage for a massive title match next week on Raw.
Dana Brooke def. 24/7 Champion Reggie
Feeling bad about what happened at the end of their Valentine’s Day date, 24/7 Champion Reggie took to the ring and invited Dana Brooke to have a proper match against him for the title. In reality, Reggie immediately flopped onto his back, encouraging Brooke to go for the cover. Reggie, however, faked out Dana and kicked out of her numerous attempts, until Brooke decided to plant a big smooch on the champion, distracting him enough for the referee to count to three and crown Dana as the new 24/7 Champion. Their steamy kiss persisted after the match, and it was not until R-Truth, Akira Tozawa and Tamina hit the ring that they were forced to make their escape.
Bianca Belair def. Doudrop
The EST of WWE was riding high after her Elimination Chamber Match victory, but it didn’t take long for Bianca Belair to be confronted by her WrestleMania 38 opponent, Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, before this match. The two exchanged some heated words before Big Time Becks took her place at the Raw announce table to take in Belair’s bout against Doudrop, and Lynch was dejected to see The EST emerge victorious after connecting with an awe-inspiring K.O.D. on Doudrop.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins & Kevin Owens def. RK-Bro
Earning their way into RK-Bro’s Raw Tag Team Championship rematch against Alpha Academy in two weeks was the name of the game for Seth “Freakin” Rollins and Kevin Owens, and they accomplished their goal. Determined to carve a path of their own to WrestleMania 38, Rollins and Owens gave Randy Orton & Riddle all they had in this thrilling main event, and the action was capped off when Riddle fell victim to a Stunner-Stomp combo by Rollins and Owens, scoring them the victory and placing them firmly in the hunt for the Raw Tag Team Championship.
