Ronda Rousey agreed to compete with one arm tied behind her back in tag team match at WWE Elimination Chamber
SmackDown kicked off with Ronda Rousey & Naomi meeting Charlotte Flair & Sonya Deville in the squared circle to make their matchup official for Saturday’s WWE Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event.
After Deville and Flair signed, though, the nefarious WWE Official explained that she had a surprise for their opposition. In response to a statement Rousey made in a WWE Digital Exclusive last week in which she stated that she could beat Sonya “with one arm tied behind her back,” Sonya opted to put that exact stipulation into the contest.
Without a moment’s hesitation, The Baddest Women on the Planet and Naomi signed the contract. The Rowdy One then slammed The Queen face-first into the table, and her glowing partner delivered a thunderous kick to Deville. Together, they literally turned the tables on the opposition and sent a clear message that they are ready for WWE Elimination Chamber on Saturday.
Ricochet def. Sheamus
Two weeks after Ricochet defeated Ridge Holland one-on-one, Sheamus looked to set an example for his protege by taking on "The One and Only” himself.
When Holland got on the apron to stop Ricochet from climbing to the top rope in the final moments of the contest, he inadvertently caused a distract and paved the way for the high-octane Superstar to hit The Celtic Warrior with the knees to the face for the three-count.
After the bell, an irate Sheamus shoved Holland to the caves and insisted he wasn’t listening to his teachings.
Ivar def. Jey Uso via Disqualification
On the eve of The Usos’ SmackDown Tag Team Title Match against Vikings Raiders at WWE Elimination Chamber, Ivar was out for payback after the titleholders attacked him and Erik in the backstage area last week and stole their helmets.
In a singles match against Jey Uso, Ivar leaped off the top rope to deliver an earth-shattering splash. Before he could pick up the pin, however, Jimmy suddenly attacked him with the Raiders’ helmet and brought an end to the match by disqualification.
In response, Erik entered the equation, gained the post-match advantage and knocked Jimmy out of the ring with the same headgear. As a result, The Viking Raiders reclaimed their property as well as a big win heading into the title clash in Jeddah.
Drew McIntyre promised to make WWE Elimination Chamber “The Night the Laughter Died"
Drew McIntyre geared up for his Falls Count Anywhere Match against Madcap Moss at WWE Elimination Chamber by replaying Moss and Happy Corbin’s backstage attack on him last month at WWE Day 1. The attack injured the former WWE Champion and nearly made him miss WrestleMania.
Acknowledging how personal the imminent contest against the not-so-comedic Superstar was for him, The Scottish Warrior asked the fans to send him suggestions to #MadcapMauling on what he should do to Moss.
When Moss and Corbin interrupted to tell another joke at McIntyre’s expense, Drew made it clear that the WWE Elimination Chamber showdown will go down as “The Night the Laughter Died."
Sami Zayn def. Shinsuke Nakamura to reclaim the Intercontinental Title
With Rick Boogs recuperating at home after getting shocked by a microphone during the “In-Zayn Podcast” last week, Shinsuke Nakamura attempted to retain his Intercontinental Championship against Sami Zayn.
In a brutal showdown, The Master Strategist exploited the titleholder’s injured knee by slamming it continuously into the unforgiving ring post. He then executed a hard kick to Nakamura’s injured appendage to pick up the pin and claim the Intercontinental Title for the third time!
Goldberg proclaimed to Roman Reigns that he’ll be the next Universal Champion
Before Roman Reigns’ Universal Title Match against Goldberg at Saturday’s Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event in The WrestleMania Match that Never Happened, Special Council Paul Heyman pontificated on the greatness of The Head of the Table during the 536th day of his illustrious reign.
Reigns was soon interrupted by Goldberg, who apologized to the WWE Universe for saying that Reigns was “next.” Instead, he said that when it comes to the Universal Championship, he’s next!
