Impact Ellis started in seven of a possible 32 games last season during his first year at Alabama after transferring in from a Junior College program. The 6-6 guard averaged 5.5 points, four rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 steals in 17.6 minutes per game. There was speculation that five-star freshman J.D. Davison would get the starting nod but head coach Nate Oats is opting to go with some more experience in Ellis than overall potential in Davison.
