Impact Karaban hasn't seen a ton of recruiting hype and was even left off a few overall top-100 lists, but his shooting, passing and ability to stretch the floor have all drawn attention early on. The idea is that he may be able to draw away enough double teams from Big East Preseason Player of the Year Adama Sanogo, which has value on its own. Still, it seems unlikely that Karaban would have been in contention for a starting role out of the gates, but with 6-6 wing Andre Jackson sidelined until mid-October due to a finger injury, it's possible a spot has opened up.
