Consistent despite team struggles Black provided 17 points (7-17 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-6 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and five steals in 37 minutes during Saturday's 69-57 victory over Ole Miss. Impact Black's all-around contributions continue to shine despite the team going on a four-game losing streak in conference play that nearly resulted in them falling out of the top-25 rankings. Over his last three games in particular, Black has averaged 16.7 points, 6.0 assists and 5.7 rebounds, plus a solid 2.3 steals. With point guard Nick Smith sidelined by a knee injury, Black is seeing more opportunities to facilitate, as he's racked up 15 assists in his last two contests alone. On the season, the 6-7 freshman is averaging 12.7 ppg -- good for second on the team among players who have appeared in 10 or more games and trailing only Ricky Council (17.2 ppg).
