Looks good in early action Holmgren had 17 points (5-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 5-7 FT), eight rebounds and two blocks across 18 minutes in Sunday's 115-62 exhibition victory over Eastern Oregon.
Impact Holmgren is the consensus top recruit in the nation by many accounts and is one of the many reasons why Gonzaga is ranked as the No. 1 team in the nation in early polls, in addition to being voted to win its 10th consecutive WCC championship. Holmgren was inexplicably left off the conference's preseason All-WCC list in favor of teammate Drew Timme, but both are poised to have highly-productive fantasy seasons while starting alongside each other in the frontcourt. The 7-0 Holmgren even stepped outside to drain a three in this exhibition, all while sporting the second-highest plus/minus rating of any Gonzaga player. The tools are here for Holmgren to become a household name by the time March rolls around.
