Impact Grill notched a season high in rebounds to make up for his relatively mediocre shooting performance Sunday. The senior guard came off the bench in all 35 games for Iowa State last season, though he's taken on a full-time starting role alongside Tamin Lipsey through the first eight games of the 2022-23 campaign. Grill's primary contributions have still come from deep range for the Cyclones, taking 5.8 of his 8.5 field-goal attempts per game from beyond the arc. However, the three-point specialist has been largely hit or miss, as 11 of his 16 made threes have come in two of his eight games. Grill will look to establish some more consistency against the in-state-rival Hawkeyes on Thursday.
