Impact Neath had become a rotation player in his first year with Wisconsin in 2021-22, and many expected a leap for the 6-4 wing heading into his senior season. While he played in three games as a reserve and posted the same minutes average, Neath hasn't seen game action since Nov. 15 and now may not again all season. Neath did undergo knee surgery back in April to correct a reoccurring issue, and while the program has simply referred to the injury as "lower body" this season, Gard's comments seem to imply that the surgery didn't go exactly as anticipated. It's unclear what the future holds for Neath, who could likely successfully lobby for a medical redshirt and extra season of eligibility.

Impact Neath's production declined significantly during his first season with the Badgers following two years at Wake Forest, but there were always rumblings that perhaps he was never fully healthy. He did miss time with what was only ever described as a leg injury, and it was reported after the season that he underwent knee surgery in early-April. Two starting spots are currently up for grabs at Wisconsin following the departures of Johnny Davis and Brad Davison, and those were occupied by Jordan Davis and Max Klesmit in Wednesday's exhibition. Even if Neath's recovery stays on track and he manages to make a bid for a starting role, the slow Wisconsin tempo and fact that he would likely be the fourth scoring option -- at best -- likely keep him off the fantasy radar.
