Bound for West Virginia Perez committed Sunday to West Virginia, joining the program as a transfer from Manhattan, Joe Tipton of On3.com reports. Impact Perez spent the 2021-22 campaign at Manhattan and averaged 18.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 33.2 minutes per game while starting in all but one of his appearances. He was able to quickly find a new home after entering the transfer portal last week following Manhattan's surprise firing of head coach Steve Masiello two weeks before the beginning of the season. Since West Virginia marks the fourth program that Perez will have played for, he may require a waiver to suit up for the Mountaineers, though the senior guard expects to be eligible this season, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. However, it's not yet clear when he'll be available to debut for the Mountaineers.
