The Wolverines made it safely to Washington D.C. for their second-round matchup against Illinois on Thursday after a frightening incident on the runway as their plane attempted to take off in Michigan on Wednesday.

However, not all of the Wolverines' gear made it to the nation’s capital in time for Thursday's tipoff.

Access to the Wolverines reportedly was denied before game time as they rushed from the airport to their bus to the arena before the noon ET tipoff – and the team’s actual availability by that time was in question at one point and ultimately was pushed back about 30 minutes.

Michigan's players, coaches and staff were shaken up by the accident Wednesday, so it remains to be seen how they will perform just several hours after walking off a plane. At this point, the mismatched unis are merely a footnote to the saga.
