Officially out Tuesday Clarke (ankle) will not play in Tuesday's game against Vanderbilt.

Impact This wasn't a surprise after it was reported earlier this week that Clarke had still yet to practice due to an ankle sprain that he has been trying to recover from the last couple weeks. If he can't practice later this week, Clarke will probably not play on Saturday against Florida either.

Dealing with ankle injury Coach John Calipari said that Clarke was playing at about 80 percent during Saturday's loss to Louisville due to an ankle injury, John Clay of the Lexington Herald-Leader reports.

Impact Clarke wasn't in the starting five for Saturday's contest, but he played 16 minutes off the bench. He failed to convert on any of his four field-goal attempts while committing one turnover. Calipari said that it was a mistake to try playing the freshman since he wasn't at full strength. It's unclear whether the injury will impact Clarke's availability for Tuesday's game against South Carolina.

Not starting Saturday Clarke is not starting Saturday's game against Louisville, according to Jeff Borzello of ESPN.com.

Impact Clarke had started his six previous games but will be coming off the bench for the first time this season. He is averaging 12.5 points per game, but he's coming off a woeful performance the last time out against UNC, where he only scored six points while making just three of his 11 shots from the field.

Impact Clarke was just about the only bright spot for the Wildcats in this one, as Kentucky has now lost three straight. The freshman posted a new career best offensively while reaching double figures for the third time in four starts. In those starts, Clarke is averaging 13.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest.
