Impact Tyson recorded a career high in points during the second start of his collegiate career. The sophomore wing averaged 1.8 points and 1.1 rebounds in 6.9 minutes across eight games before deciding to transfer from Texas last season. Tyson appears set to play a prominent scoring role in the Red Raiders' starting lineup in the 2022-23 campaign.

Impact Obanor improved his poor scoring efficiency from Monday's season opener against Northwestern State, when he converted two of his seven field-goal attempts. The fifth-year senior also finished with more rebounds despite playing nine fewer minutes Thursday. Obanor should continue to provide valuable veteran experience while playing alongside starting center Daniel Batcho, who is stepping up into a bigger role with Fardaws Aimaq expected to sit out until late December with a broken foot. The two starting frontcourt mates will look to continue building their rapport against Louisiana Tech on Monday.

Impact Unlike previously, Aimaq will try to be healthy before the Red Raiders begin their Big 12 season Dec. 31 versus TCU. The return date remains provisional though. Unsurprisingly, Daniel Batcho was selected to be the Red Raiders' starting center before participating in their game Monday.

Impact Harmon drew the start in his Texas Tech debut on Monday night. The senior transfer averaged 10.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals while starting all but one of his 35 games with Oregon last season. Harmon also put up 12.9 points per game with Oklahoma during the 2020-21 campaign, so this experience should net him plenty of playing time for the Red Raiders this season. The North Carolina transfer averaged just 3.4 points on 37.3 field-goal efficiency while playing 13.4 minutes across 31 games last season. With plenty of turnover in the Red Raiders' backcourt this offseason, Walton should have a solid opportunity to carve out a prominent role in the 2022-23 campaign, including this Thursday against Texas Southern.

Impact This is excellent news and certainly a much shorter recovery timeline that what was originally thought when he suffered the broken foot last month. Impact Batcho showed flashes as a raw freshman of a lot of potential down the road. It seems that the 6-11 sophomore had a really good offseason. Batcho has huge opportunity in front of him with elite transfer Fardaws Aimaq set to miss the first few months of the season with a broken foot. If Batcho can get off to a good start to the season he will likely keep a decent role even after Aimaq is able to return.
