David Singleton - Optimistic for Sweet 16 Singleton (ankle) told reporters a day after Saturday's victory that he's dealing with a sprain and expects to be fine, Jeff Goodman of Stadium reports. Impact While Singleton's injury initially looked to be severe when replayed on the broadcast, he was later able to put weight on the leg and participate in handshake lines. That, mixed with his comments a day later, suggest a much-improved outlook, but his official status likely won't be known until closer to Thursday's tip-off. If he gives it a go, Singleton would presumably start, which has been the case since early-March when teammate Jaylen Clark went down with an Achilles injury. Should he end up coming off the bench or seeing limited minutes due to being less than 100 percent, freshman guards Dylan Andrews and Will McClendon could be forced into additional minutes, while Amari Bailey would presumably see a slight usage bump.
