Both Gach - Cleared to play Gach received his waiver from the NCAA is eligible to play the 2021-22 season for Utah, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact The senior spent his first two years of collegiate basketball as a member of the Utah Utes, but transferred to Minnesota last season. However, Gach transferred back to Utah and is now ruled immediately eligible to play for the Utes. The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 9.0 points, 2.82 rebounds and 2.5 assists while starting in 39 out of 58 appearances during his first two years in Utah. Gach figures to be a key member of Utah's rotation this season.

Marco Anthony - One board shy of double-double Anthony posted 10 points (3-9 FG, 4-6 FT), nine rebounds and one assist in 33 minutes during Wednesday's 70-56 victory over Abilene Christian.

Impact Anthony was making his Utah debut after transferring from nearby Utah State and came up just one rebound shy of posting what would have been his second career double-double. He wasn't the most efficient with his shooting as he only shot 33-percent from the floor, but he helped make up for it on the defensive end with a team-high two steals.

Impact Holt wasn't considered full-go as of late-October after being spotted working off to the side at practice, but the JUCO transfer made it onto the court for the opener, albeit briefly. He appears poised to serve as a depth forward option in 2021-22.

Gabe Madsen - Shines in exhibition win Madsen posted 16 points (5-10 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound and three assists across 18 minutes in Thursday's 87-51 exhibition victory over Westminster Utah.

Impact Madsen flashed his three-point shooting in the win, draining three from deep while leading the team in points. A three-star recruit in the 2020 class, Madsen is looking for a fresh start after appearing in only two games for Cincinnati last season. He looks like he'll be a key wing player off the bench for the Utes in a possible sixth-man role.

Both Gach - Won't play Thursday Gach (not injury related) will not be dressed for Thursday's exhibition game against Westminster, Josh Furlong of KSL.com reports.

Impact Gach will sit while still waiting for his waiver to be approved by the NCAA. It's unclear when an official ruling could come, but until then, the 6-6- senior won't be able to play for the Utes this season.

Impact It's unclear what kept Holt off the court Tuesday. Utah opens its season Nov. 9 against Abilene Christian, so he still has close to two weeks to get into game shape before he starts missing in-season time.

Both Gach - Waiver hasn't yet processed Gach (eligibility) remains without an official NCAA waiver that's necessary for him to suit up for the Utes in 2021-22, Josh Furlong of KSL.com reports.

Impact Gach is returning to Utah after a year spent in Minnesota, but since it's technically his second transfer, he isn't automatically eligible to suit up. While the NCAA has been incredibly liberal with handing out waivers, it seems this one is taking much longer than expected. Gach did not participate in last Saturday's unscheduled scrimmage as a result, but coach Craig Smith continues to work him into the rotation as if a waiver is forthcoming. His next chance to take the court will be a Nov. 4 exhibition contest against Westminster.
