Impact Stevenson was held to one of his worst shooting performances of the season by the Terrapins' stifling defense. The fifth-year senior was on a scoring tear over the previous seven games, recording 22.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game over that span. This marked the end to a career-best scoring season for Stevenson, who averaged 15.4 points on 43 percent field-goal shooting and 37.9 percent three-point shooting across 34 starts during the 2022-23 campaign. After five seasons spread across four schools, Stevenson has no remaining years of eligibility.

Impact Johnson did all he could to will his team to a win against a more talented Maryland squad. West Virginia was able to battle and keep in close thanks to their physical defense, but they just couldn't get Johnson enough help on offense to advance in the Round of 64. Johnson took a big step this season going from averaging 5.3 points and 1.7 assists as a sophomore to 11.2 points and 3.2 assists as a junior. If he chooses to return to WVU next year, Johnson will certainly be one to keep an eye on in fantasy leagues that include the Big 12.
