Shadrick Byrd - Out again Saturday Byrd (ankle) is out for Saturday's game versus Rice, Hunter Bailey of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Impact Byrd will miss his third straight game Saturday as he continues to deal with an ankle injury. With Terron Kellman and Henry Rutledge also out, Hahsaun Wilson -- who rushed 24 times for 198 yards and three touchdowns last week -- is set to lead the backfield once again.

He was targeted six times for the third straight game after not receiving that many looks in the first seven games of the season, proof that he and Trexler Ivey have developed a solid connection with one another.

Impact Bangda received a season-high five carries with Shadrick Byrd and Terron Kellman both out and gained 36 yards and two touchdowns. While he played well, he was completely outshined by Hahsaun Wilson who out of nowhere gained nearly 200 yards and scored three touchdowns. If Byrd and Kellman are forced out of Saturday's matchup with Rice, Bangda will likely backup Wilson.

Impact Wilson had not received a touch this season heading into Saturday's game and finished the contest with 24 carries for 198 yards and three touchdowns. He received his first carry in the second quarter and took it for seven yards, the longest play of the game to that point. After that point he became the bell cow and put together one of the best rushing performances of the season across all conference's out of complete obscurity. Given the unclear status of Shadrick Byrd and Terron Kellman for Saturday's game and how well Wilson played versus Memphis, Wilson could start Saturday.

Trexler Ivey - Rough outing versus Memphis Ivey was 14-for-25 passing for 168 yards and four interceptions during Saturday's 44-38 overtime loss versus Memphis. He also had five rushes for -20 yards.

Impact Ivey threw four interceptions -- including a pick-six -- versus Memphis, the same number he had thrown in his previous seven games (137 pass attempts). However, thanks to Hahsaun Wilson's elite rushing, Ivey and the 49ers took the game into overtime where Memphis eventually won the game. Ivey will look to bounce back in a much more favorable matchup versus Rice.

It marked his second consecutive game with 20 or more carries, proof that the 49ers' coaching staff trusts him to be a workhorse back in this offense. If Byrd is forced to miss Saturday's game versus Memphis, expect Kellman to receive lots of touches again.
