Nico Ragaini - Adds two more catches in bowl Ragaini gathered in two of three targets for 21 yards during Saturday's 21-0 win over Kentucky in the Music City Bowl.

Impact Ragaini unsurprisingly saw few opportunities with redshirt freshman quarterback Joe Labas starting in place of injured senior Spencer Petras (shoulder) after No. 2 signal-caller Alex Padilla also entered the transfer portal. The fifth-year wideout was one of the few reliable wideouts for Iowa this season, though he logged the team's fourth-most targets behind tight ends Sam LaPorta (seven) and Luke Lachey (seven) and fellow wideout Diante Vines (four)during this bowl win. Ragaini finished the 2022 season with 34 receptions (on 59 targets) for 386 yards and one touchdown over 11 games -- all of which are the highest marks since his 2019 redshirt freshman campaign. The 6-foot pass catcher has already decided to return for his sixth season in 2023, according to John Steppe of The Gazette of Cedar Rapids, and he figures to once again serve as one of the top targets in an offense that will see a lot of personnel turnover heading into next season.

Sam LaPorta - Top receiver in collegiate finale LaPorta reeled in five of seven targets for 56 yards during Saturday's 21-0 win over Kentucky in the Music City Bowl.

Impact LaPorta led Iowa's offensive skill players in total yards during his final collegiate game Saturday. The senior also set up the team's lone touchdown when he caught a short pass before running through multiple Wildcats defenders for a 27-yard gain. This allowed redshirt freshman Joe Labas to hit fellow tight end Luke Lachey for a 15-yard touchdown on the subsequent play early in the second quarter. With top Iowa Hawkeye signal-caller Spencer Petras (shoulder) ruled out and Alex Padilla in the transfer portal, LaPorta took snaps as a wildcat quarterback during the fourth quarter and logged the first two rushing attempts of his career. The 6-foot-4, 249-pound tight end will now head to the NFL following a four-year career with 153 receptions for 1,786 yards and five touchdowns, according to John Bohkenkamp of SI.com.

Luke Lachey - Reels in TD during Music City Bowl Lachey hauled in three of seven targets for 36 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 21-0 victory over Kentucky in the Music City Bowl.

Impact Lachey recorded the lone offensive touchdown of the game, catching a hitch route at the 10-yard line before eluding the nearest defender on his way up the field to the pylon. The Hawkeyes defense then went on to notch yet another virtuoso with two first-half pick-sixes against Kentucky freshman quarterback Destin Wade, who started in place of NFL-bound signal-caller Will Levis. Lachey ultimately finished as Iowa's No. 2 receiver behind senior tight end Sam LaPorta (five receptions, seven targets, 56 yards) in this limited outing for redshirt freshman quarterback Joe Labas (14-for-24 passing, 139 yards, one touchdown). With LaPorta set to graduate, Lachey will likely be the top candidate to carry on Iowa's tradition of dominant tight ends along with Michigan transfer Erick All, who committed to Iowa in mid-December.

Kaleb Johnson - Paces paltry rushing attack Johnson logged nine carries for 17 yards and did not haul in his lone target during Saturday's 21-0 victory against Kentucky in the Music City Bowl.

Impact Johnson led the Hawkeyes' inefficient rushing game in carries during the Music City Bowl, as the team accumulated 67 yards across 24 attempts on the ground. The team's rushing game was stop and start all season, so it's no surprise this unit struggled against the Wildcats' stout defensive front. Johnson finished his 2022 true freshman season as Iowa's No. 1 running back with 151 carries for 779 yards and six touchdowns. He figures to jockey with sophomore Leshon Williams for carries heading into 2023 after fellow backup running back Gavin Williams entered the transfer portal in early December.

Joe Labas - Notches bowl win in starting debut Labas completed 14 of 24 passes for 139 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 21-0 win against Kentucky in the Music City Bowl.

Impact Labas got out to a nice start, completing each of his first three passing attempts to different receivers for 37 yards. He then went on to hit tight end Luke Lachey for a 15-yard touchdown early in the second quarter. This marked the lone offensive touchdown of the game in this shutout performance for the Hawkeyes' defense, which recorded two pick-sixes against Wildcats true freshman quarterback Destin Wade. Labas was Iowa's top starting option with Spencer Petras (shoulder) ruled out and previous No. 2 quarterback Alex Padilla entering the transfer portal prior to the Music City Bowl. However, he'll face an uphill battle to win this job heading into next season after graduate senior Cade McNamara committed to transfer from Michigan to Iowa in early December.
