Max Johnson - Set to split reps at QB Johnson will split reps with Conner Harrell as North Carolina's starting quarterback in Week 1 against Minnesota and potentially throughout the season, per Inside Carolina. Impact Johnson, the Texas A&M transfer, has had a good offseason in Chapel Hill and figured to have an inside track to start this fall. Still, this quarterback battle clearly isn't quite resolved as both Johnson and Harrell will play against Minnesota to open the season. Head coach Mack Brown also added that "We'd like to do it for the season," meaning there may not be a true starting quarterback for the Tar Heels this fall, at least initially. Last season with the Aggies, Johnson tossed for 1,452 yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 62 percent of his passes.
