Gets first PGA Tour win since 2013 Thompson won the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities by two shots with a four-under 67 on Sunday. Impact Thompson held a share of the 54-hole lead at 15-under-par, but was just one-over through his first four holes on Sunday. That early bogey would be his only hiccup, however, as Thompson carded five birdies coming home to win for the first time of the PGA Tour since the Honda Classic in 2013. The shot of the tournament was no doubt his lengthy second shot from the bunker on the short par-4 16th which he clipped perfectly to tap in range. It gave him the security he needed to be able to play the par-5 18th hole conservatively, but he still ended up knocking in a birdie putt to put a statement on the week. Thompson will now be in the field for next week's WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational, as well as the upcoming PGA Championship and U.S. Open.
