World Series Game 5 highlights: Dodgers rally past Yankees to win 2024 World Series title

The Los Angeles Dodgers are 2024 World Series champions.

The Dodgers became the first team to rally from a 5-0 deficit to clinch a World Series, defeating the New York Yankees, 7-6, by staging major comebacks in the fifth and eighth innings.

Gerrit Cole was excellent over 6.2 innings, but some poor defense from the Yankees — including Cole himself — led to five unearned runs in the fifth. The Dodgers then took the lead for good in the eighth and got a stunning performance from their bullpen, especially Blake Treinen and Walker Buehler, to close it out.
