The NFL playoffs continued Sunday with the highly anticipated AFC Championship Game, as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens, 17-10.
Baltimore was first to advance after dominating Houston in the divisional round, scoring 24 unanswered second-half points to win 34-10. It was the Ravens' first AFC title game appearance since their Super Bowl-winning 2012-13 season.
Kansas City advanced after narrowly outlasting the Buffalo Bills 27-24 in its divisional-round tilt, which was the first road playoff victory for Patrick Mahomes.
Sunday marked the sixth straight AFC title game for the Chiefs.

Shortly after starting a drive from their own 1-yard line and later converting a fourth-and-3 from their own 18-yard line, Ravens QB Lamar Jackson hit WR Nelson Agholor for a 39-yard gain. Then disaster struck for the Ravens, as Jackson was intercepted by Chiefs defensive back Deon Bush in the end zone for a touchback.

On the first play of the fourth quarter, Jackson got the ball out to Zay Flowers, but Chiefs cornerback L'Jarius Sneed knocked the ball out of the wide receiver's possession as he leaped for the end zone. Trent McDuffie recovered the loose ball in the end zone for the Chiefs for a touchback.

On the first play of the Ravens' next drive, Jackson hit a wide-open Zay Flowers for a 54-yard gain. That said, the wide receiver was flagged for taunting, moving the ball back to the Chiefs' 25-yard line.

The two teams combined for four punts to open the second half. With the Ravens on the verge of field goal range, Chiefs safety Justin Reid sacked Jackson, forcing a punt.
Kansas City had the ball for 20:39 in the first half and therefore out-gained Baltimore 221-110 in total yards. TE Travis Kelce led the way for the Chiefs with nine receptions for 96 yards and one touchdown.

An unnecessary roughness penalty on Kyle Van Noy and a roughing the passer penalty on Travis Jones sparked a Kansas City dive that started at its own 11-yard line. Later in the drive, Mahomes hit Kelce for a 21-yard gain, getting the Chiefs into field goal range. Kicker Harrison Butker finished off the drive with a 52-yard field goal.

Jackson's pass was tipped high into the air by Reid, but then the former somehow got under and caught his own pass for a 13-yard Ravens gain.
It was the longest self-pass in playoff history and one of only three in NFL history, the other two coming from Marcus Mariota (a 6-yard self-pass for a touchdown vs. the Chiefs on Jan. 6, 2018) and Kurt Warner (a 4-yard self-pass vs. the Philadelphia Eagles on Jan. 18, 2009).

Kansas City chose to go for it on fourth-and-1 on Baltimore's 13-yard line, but RB Isiah Pacheco came up short of the line to gain.

Faced with a third-and-5, Mahomes kept buying time, avoiding the pressure and eventually flipped a pass to Kelce, who pulled down an abrupt reception for the first down.

Jackson converted a fourth-and-1 from the Ravens' own 34-yard line on a 21-yard carry. Just two plays later, the QB got out of a sack and hit Flowers for a 30-yard touchdown.

TE Mark Andrews, who hadn't played since Week 11 due to an ankle injury, and cornerback Marlon Humphrey (calf strain) were active for Baltimore. On the other side, All-Pro guard Joe Thuney (pectoral) and linebacker Willie Gay (neck) were inactive for Kansas City.
