NFL playoffs highlights: 49ers, Ravens advance past divisional round

FINAL: 49ers 24, Packers 21

Jordan Love and the Packers were able to pick up some yards on the first few plays of their last-minute drive, getting to their own 36-yard line with 52 seconds left. Love, who was under duress, threw a ball across his body that wound up in the arms of a diving Dre Greenlaw, making his second interception of the game to seal the win for the 49ers.

San Francisco advances to the NFC title game for the third straight season and is looking for its first Super Bowl appearance in 11 years. The 49ers will host the winner of Sunday's Buccaneers-Lions game on Sunday, Jan. 28 (6:30 p.m. ET on FOX and the FOX Sports app).

Following the missed kick, the 49ers methodically made their way down the field. They made a pair of third-down conversions before getting down to the Packers' 6-yard line. 

Then, Christian McCaffrey slipped a tackle and ran free into the end zone to give the 49ers a three-point lead.

Even though the 49ers were able to pin the Packers deep in their own territory, Green Bay was able to get into scoring range quickly. Aaron Jones ran for a 53-yard gain on the Packers' first play from their 10-yard line and two plays later, Eric Wilson leaped over a defender for a first down.

After another Green Bay drive stalled out in San Fran territory, the Packers decided to settle for three. But that decision didn't pay off as Anders Carlson's 41-yarder hooked just left of the field goal post, keeping the lead at four points.

The 49ers were able to capitalize off the interception late in the third, but probably not to the extent they would've liked. 

On third-and-10 from the Packers' 35-yard line, Brock Purdy dealt with heavy pressure and stepped up in the pocket before being taken down after a very short gain. Still, it was enough to get into field goal range for Jake Moody, who drained a 52-yard field goal to cut the Packers' lead to four to open the fourth quarter.

The 49ers were finally able to prevent the Packers from getting deep into their own territory by making a big play. On third-and-11 from the Packers' 48-yard line, Jordan Love threw a pass behind Tucker Kraft that would end up in the hands of Dre Greenlaw, returning the ball to the original line of scrimmage.

The Packers flipped things around on the 49ers after San Francisco took the lead halfway through the third quarter. Keisean Nixon had a major kickoff return, running 73 yards to the 49ers' 27-yard line before getting the ball punched out of his arm. Luckily for Nixon, teammate Eric Wilson pounced on the ball for a recovery at the 49ers' 20-yard line.

On the fourth play of the drive, Jordan Love threaded a pass to Tucker Kraft at the goal line for a touchdown. Unlike their last touchdown, the Packers opted to go for the 2-point conversion to take a seven-point lead. Love lobbed a pass to a wide-open Aaron Jones to go up by seven.

It didn't take long for the 49ers to respond to the Packers' first touchdown of the game. Facing third-and-6 on the third play of the drive, George Kittle turned a routine grab over the middle into a 32-yard gain to get the 49ers into Packers territory. 

On the next play, Christian McCaffrey ran right through the Packers defense, breaking multiple tackles for a 39-yard touchdown to give the 49ers a one-point lead.

The Packers were able to reach the end zone for the first time on their first possession of the second half, but they got some help from the 49ers defense. On third-and-15 from their own 40-yard line, Jordan Love threw a deep ball to Bo Melton that fell incomplete, but the Packers wide receiver was clearly interfered with, drawing a penalty from Ambry Thomas to put them at the 49ers' 19-yard line. 

On the next play, Melton got wide open in the end zone as a 49ers defensive back slipped, tip-toeing in the end zone for the touchdown grab.

Halftime: 49ers 7, Packers 6

The 49ers had a Packers-like drive before halftime, slowly moving the ball down the field before being forced to bring out the field goal team. As Jake Moody lined up for a 48-yard field goal though, Colby Wooden stuck his hand up and was able to hit the ball, causing the kick to go wide and keep the 49ers' lead at one point, 7-6, going into the break.

Deebo Samuel bounced in and out of the game throughout the first 20 minutes of action. The 49ers' star receiver went into the locker room in the early minutes of the second quarter after initially being taken out of the game in the first quarter. He was on the wrong end of a head-to-head hit on the 49ers' opening possession, but he was cleared to play after being evaluated for a head injury, returning to the field on the team's second drive. 

Samuel was later ruled questionable to return again, with a shoulder injury being the ailment that took him out of the game for a second time.

4:09 2Q: 49ers 7, Packers 6

It was the same old story for the Packers on their third drive of Saturday's game. Jordan Love was able to lead them downfield without much trouble, hitting Jayden Reed for a 27-yard pass on the opening play of the drive and completing a 22-yard pass to Romeo Doubs to get into the red zone.

But the 49ers' defensive line was able to provide some resistance, forcing the Packers to lose two yards after they got to the 9-yard line and settle for three points.

After playing out of rhythm on their opening possession, the 49ers found their groove on their second drive. 

San Francisco took its time moving the ball down the field before it took its shot down the field on a third-and-5 play from Green Bay's 32-yard line. QB Brock Purdy rolled out of the pocket and launched a deep pass to TE George Kittle, who came down with the ball at the doorstep of the goal line and ran in to give the 49ers the lead.

The Packers looked poised to score again on their second possession. After getting the ball at their 18-yard line, the Packers slowly moved the ball down the field before facing a third-and-1 from the Packers' 14-yard line. Aaron Jones was stuffed at the line of scrimmage on the third-down run, so the Packers went no-huddle and tried the tush push on fourth-and-1. 

The play didn't work though, as QB Jordan Love and the Packers' attempt to get a first down was deemed just short, giving the 49ers the ball back with the three-point deficit intact.

The Packers brought their game plan from the opening drive of last week's wild-card game to Saturday's game. They elected to receive after winning the coin toss and proceeded to go on a 14-play, 58-yard drive that took just over half of the first quarter.

However, unlike what they did in their win over the Cowboys, the Packers had to settle for three points as Charvarius Ward batted away a pass in the end zone on third down.

FINAL: Ravens 34, Texans 10

Baltimore continued its second-half domination following Lamar Jackson's second touchdown run of the game, forcing Houston to turn the ball over on downs in its own territory with just over five minutes left. 

With the win, the Ravens advanced to the AFC Championship Game for the first time since the 2012 season. It'll also be the first time Baltimore will host the AFC Championship Game since 1971, when the Colts still played in the city.

The Ravens will host the winner of Sunday's Chiefs-Bills game as they seek their first Super Bowl appearance since 2012.

After forcing the Texans to go three-and-out on Houston's first possession of the second half, the Ravens put the exclamation mark on their dominant second half. They methodically carved up the Texans defense, going on an 11-play, 78-yard drive that ended with Lamar Jackson running into the end zone from eight yards out to extend the Ravens' lead.

After the Texans pinned them down at their 7-yard line following a punt, the Ravens went on a 12-play, 93-yard drive that ended with Lamar Jackson hitting Isaiah Likely on a lob into the end zone for a 15-yard touchdown that put the Ravens up by two scores. 

Additionally, they used up over seven minutes of game clock before scoring, putting pressure on the Texans to score multiple times in the fourth quarter.

The Ravens offense played more organized to open up the second half than they did close out the first half. Following Devin Duvernay's 37-yard kick return, the Ravens needed just two plays to get within the Texans' 30-yard line. 

Once they got into the red zone, they nearly got into trouble as Lamar Jackson threw a pass in traffic that was nearly intercepted. However, the pass fell incomplete, allowing Jackson to run for a 15-yard TD on the ensuing play to give the Ravens the lead.

C.J. Stroud nearly helped the Texans get three points right before halftime. The Texans rookie QB drove his team 44 yards on eight plays late in the first half to get them to the Ravens' 29-yard line. Following a third-down stop by the Ravens, the Texans were content with settling for a field goal. 

However, Ka'imi Fairbairn's kick went wide right, keeping the game tied.

4:17 2Q: Texans 10, Ravens 10

The Texans defense was able to force the Ravens offense to go three-and-out in the later stages of the second quarter, sacking Lamar Jackson on one play and talking him down at the line of scrimmage on another. 

Houston beat Baltimore at one of its best strengths on the following play when Steven Sims ran right up the middle on the punt return, speeding right by the Ravens' punt team and going 67 yards for a touchdown that tied the game.

9:14 2Q: Ravens 10, Texans 3

The Ravens responded to the Texans' game-tying field goal by carving up the opposing defense on their next drive. 

Lamar Jackson scrambled for 24 yards on the first play of the drive before throwing a 17-yard pass to Zay Flowers and rushing for 15 more yards on a third-down run. That got the Ravens to the Texans' 2-yard line. After getting stuffed on first down, Jackson tossed a pass to a wide-open Nelson Agholor to give the Ravens the game's first touchdown.

A bad punt from the Ravens set the Texans up with good field position, getting the ball near midfield late in the first quarter. A pair of completions to Nico Collins and Dalton Schultz helped the Texans move the ball far enough to get to the Ravens' 32-yard line, allowing Ka'imi Fairbairn to kick a 50-yard field goal that tied the game.

The Ravens' opening drive eventually stalled out, but not before they were able to pick up four first downs and make their way down the field. 

As they got to the Texans' 34-yard line, the Ravens were right in Justin Tucker's range, allowing the star kicker to give them an early lead.
