Eagles 37, Rams 20
FOURTH QUARTER
The Eagles' dominance on the ground continued in the final quarter. Saquon Barkley capped off a career performance with another long touchdown, this time for even longer than his first: 72 yards!
That put Barkley at 255 rushing yards, a personal best for the 27-year-old and a franchise record for both rushing yards in a game and most yards from scrimmage in a game (302).
Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp connected for a late touchdown to make the final score (37-20) more respectable, but the night belonged to Barkley.
THIRD QUARTER
Philly's ground game has been unstoppable Sunday night. On third-and-1, Jalen Hurts tush-pushed his way to a first down. Later on third-and-10, Saquon Barkley ripped off a 31-yard gain. When he got a breather, Kenneth Gainwell came in and ran it right up the middle for his first touchdown of the season, and a 27-14 Eagles lead.
The score stayed there even after the Rams' next drive took 4:45 off the clock. They came away with nothing after Joshua Karty missed a 47-yard field goal try.
LA's offense delivered on its first drive of the second half, though. Matthew Stafford guided the Rams down the field, and when Eagles veteran cornerback Darius Slay left the game due to a concussion, the savvy quarterback targeted Slay's replacement. Stafford threw it to Demarcus Robinson, who was covered by Isaiah Rodgers, in the end zone to cut the Rams' deficit to 20-14.
The Eagles came out after halftime on fire. Well, Saquon Barkley did, at least. He took the first snap from scrimmage all the way to the house for a 70-yard score, the second-longest touchdown run in his career.
SECOND QUARTER
The Eagles and Rams traded punts following Los Angeles' touchdown. Philadelphia had a promising drive in the middle stages of the second quarter, but it stalled out at Los Angeles' 13-yard, settling for three points to make it 7-6.
Following a three-and-out by the Rams, the Eagles went to work before halftime. Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley diced up the Rams defense before the quarterback hit A.J. Brown in the back corner of the end zone for an apparent touchdown pass. Brown lost the ball after making the grab, causing the officials to rule the play on the field an incomplete pass. However, the call was reversed after a review, giving the Eagles a 13-7 lead with 1:27 left before halftime.
In a bizarre sequence, each team had a Hail Mary opportunity in the final seconds of the half. But neither team passed the ball. Hurts was taken down on a quarterback draw near midfield, turning the ball over on downs with two seconds left in the half. Matthew Stafford was sacked on the Rams' Hail Mary opportunity, ending the half.
FIRST QUARTER
The Rams got out to a hot start, marching down to the Eagles 17-yard line in just four plays. Running back Kyren Williams lost the ball on a 1-yard carry on the fifth play of the drive, with officials initially ruling him down by contact. The Eagles challenged it, and it was determined that Williams fumbled with Philadelphia getting a clear recovery.
Philadelphia kicked a field goal following the fumble to take an early 3-0 lead. Williams made up for the fumble on Los Angeles' ensuing possession, rushing for a touchdown to give the Rams a 7-3 lead with a minute left in the first quarter.
