Battlehawks vs. Renegades highlights: Arlington stuns St. Louis, 36-22

Three picks to end the game! First, Renegades safety Joe Powell intercepted a pass from Battlehawks QB Manny Wilkins and managed to stay in bounds, taking it to the house for a 49-yard touchdown. 

Next, Arlington attempted a one-point conversion, but QB Luis Perez was picked off by St. Louis CB Keylon Kennedy, who ran it all the back to the end zone to tack on one more for the Battlehawks. 

The Renegades' fate was sealed with a final interception by CB Myles Dorn with just about a minute to go in the game.

Arlington CB Steven Jones Jr. hustled his way to the sideline to pick off Battlehawks QB Manny Wilkins with less than three minutes to go in the fourth quarter. 

Renegades TE Seth Green was the go-to man on this scoring drive, which resulted in a 5-yard touchdown — Green's first of the season. It was set up by fellow TE Sal Cannella's 13-yard run on third-and-10 that saw him break multiple tackles.

A successful two-point conversion that gave Arlington the lead back midway through the third quarter.

The Battlehawks came out swinging in the second half, scoring on their first drive with a heel-clicking 7-yard rushing touchdown from QB Manny Wilkins, which gave St. Louis its first lead of the day.

A "tush push" play call on fourth-and-goal gave St. Louis six more points before heading into the locker room. The Battlehawks successfully pushed QB Manny Wilkins over the line for a 1-yard touchdown, but they failed in their two-point conversion attempt, keeping it a four-point game at the break.

After hauling in a contested pass from QB Luis Perez and landing in the end zone, Arlington wideout Isaiah Winstead tacked on a couple more points with a successful two-point conversion that put the Renegades up by 10.

Battlehawks head coach Anthony Becht told his team to BYOJ — Bring Your Own Juice — ahead of this drive, and running back Jacob Saylors took that message literally. After a 39-yard run, which placed the Battlehawks in the red zone, QB Manny Wilkins connected with Saylors again to complete the scoring drive with an 11-yard touchdown.

After a clutch fumble recovery, Arlington used a little trickery to get the ball down the field. Tight end Sal Cannella, who made his way to the end zone for a 46-yard touchdown, gave the Renegades their first points of the day.

A successful two-point conversion from QB Luis Perez to WR Isaiah Winstead put Arlington up by eight early on.

St. Louis head coach Anthony Becht said starting QB AJ McCarron is available this week after missing Week 8 with an ankle injury. However, Becht said McCarron is set to serve as the team’s No. 2 behind Manny Wilkins, who will get the start for a second straight week. Wilkins finished with 205 total yards in his first start in seven seasons. 

Battlehawks receivers Jahcour Pearson (ankle) and Marcell Ateman (respiratory illness) will return to action today.

Ahead of Saturday's action, the Renegades got some love from their Texas neighbors — Jalen Brooks and Brock Hoffman of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys.
