Blues lose Rattie to Hurricanes on waiver wire

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Carolina Hurricanes have claimed winger Ty Rattie off waivers from the St. Louis Blues.

The 23-year-old Rattie has not played in an NHL game since Nov. 28 and scored all four of his career goals last season. He has been a healthy scratch in all but four games this season.

The Blues were hoping Rattie would go unclaimed so they could send him to their AHL affiliate to see game action, but Carolina stepped in.

It's possible the Blues will face their old teammate when they host the Hurricanes at Scottrade Center on Thursday night.
