Impact Nola was given an 11-run lead by the fourth inning, so he was able to pound the strike zone -- 83 of his 110 pitches went for strikes. However, that did lead to him serving up a pair of homers, marking only the third time he's been taken deep multiple times in an outing this season. Otherwise, Nola has been in excellent form, as he entered Thursday's start having allowed fewer than two earned runs while working at least seven innings in each of his last four starts. Overall, he has maintained a 3.13 ERA and an impeccable 117:14 K:BB across 103.2 frames on the campaign.

Impact Nola and MacKenzie Gore engaged in a pitcher's duel and Nola was the first to break when he surrendered an Austin Nola RBI single in the sixth that proved to be the difference. The 29-year-old tossed 70 of 98 pitches for strikes with a whopping 18 of the swinging variety in matching a season best with 10 strikeouts. It seemed Nola had put the poor luck behind him as Philadelphia reigned in each of his last five starts; however, Nola has permitted just one run in 15 innings over his last two turns and doesn't have a win to show for it. He's slated to take the mound next against Atlanta midweek.

The Phillies changed that with runs in the eighth and ninth innings for a comeback win after the right-hander was out of the game. His three-start win streak came to an end Monday, but he's still been pretty solid lately. Overall, Nola has a 3.42 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 91:10 K:BB in 81.2 innings across 13 starts. He lines up for a favorable road start versus the Nationals this weekend.
