Takes no-decision Sunday Cobb allowed four runs on eight hits and two walks with six strikeouts in 5.2 innings in a no-decision during Sunday's loss to the Dodgers.

Impact Cobb allowed the first three batters to reach, but he was able to limit the damage to one run in the first inning. The Dodgers got to him for three more runs in the third, but Darin Ruf's two-run home run got Cobb off the hook in the fifth. The right-hander had completed at least six innings in three straight starts before the All-Star break, so this was a small step back. He now has a 4.26 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 74:22 K:BB through 76 innings in 15 starts overall. He's projected for a home start versus the Cubs next week.

Impact Cobb allowed the Brewers to tie the game at 1-1 with a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning. That was the only run he allowed, but he exited after the play, having thrown 99 pitches (64 strikes). This was his longest outing of the season and one of his best performances as well. The right-hander now has a 4.09 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 68:20 K:BB across 70.1 innings. Cobb carries a 3-4 record into the second half of the campaign.

The right-hander was in line for the loss when he departed, but San Francisco's offense stormed back late in the game to allow him to escape with a no-decision. Cobb has allowed only eight earned runs over 25.1 innings (2.84 ERA) across his past five starts, but he hasn't picked up any wins over that time. His last victory came May 17 in Colorado in a wild game in which he surrendered seven runs.

Impact Cobb matched White Sox starter Lance Lynn for five frames, which was the former's longest start since returning from a neck strain. Per Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News, Cobb was removed after five innings to help ease him back in action -- the right-hander had tossed just 67 pitches (42 strikes) before exiting, but it doesn't sound like a setback was involved. He has a 4.94 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 56:15 K:BB in 51 innings across 11 starts overall. Cobb will continue working on stretching out ahead of next week's projected road start in Arizona.
