Dealt to St. Louis The Rays traded Kittredge to the Cardinals on Friday in exchange for Richie Palacios, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
Impact Kittredge missed the first half of the 2023 campaign after undergoing Tommy John surgery in June 2022. Upon returning, he managed to pick up where he left off, surrendering four earned runs in 11.2 innings while striking out 10 batters and walking just two. The 33-year-old righty will remain in a high-leverage role in St. Louis and provide a much-needed boost to a Cardinals bullpen that finished 13th in the NL last season with a 4.47 ERA.

Impact Kittredge has finally completed the long road back from Tommy John surgery, which he had in June of 2022. The right-handed reliever's numbers during his rehab assignment weren't great, as he held a 5.40 ERA and 1.57 WHIP with a 9:3 K:BB over 13.1 innings. That means he'll likely be eased back into high-leverage spots, although his track record suggests he's certainly capable of being a big asset for the Rays' bullpen eventually if he can knock off the rust and regain his pre-surgery stuff.
