2022-23 MLB free-agency tracker: Signings, best players still available

Here are some of the biggest moves that've been made in MLB free agency thus far, along with the top players still available.

Mike Soroka - Close to running again Soroka (hamstring) said Tuesday that he is close to running again, Justin Toscano of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Impact Soroka entered spring training with a bit of left hamstring discomfort and has been eased along since his arrival, but the standing hope is that this will be a non-issue within a week or so. He's been playing catch in camp and can build up swiftly once he gets the go-ahead to incorporate leg-based workouts. The right-hander is aiming to claim a spot in Atlanta's season-opening starting rotation here in 2023 following a couple of completely lost years.

Impact Wright received a cortisone injection in January to help push through a bit of right shoulder discomfort and is currently behind the other pitchers at Atlanta's camp in Florida, but the expectation is that the 27-year-old will be ready for the beginning of the 2023 regular season. He broke out to the tune of a 21-5 record, 3.19 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 174:53 K:BB over 180.1 innings (30 starts) last year.

Impact Wright received a cortisone injection in January, which put him behind schedule. The 27-year-old won't be rushed, and Bowman notes that he likely won't make any starts during the first couple weeks of Grapefruit League action. Wright won a league-high 21 games in 2022, but fantasy managers will want to keep a close eye on his progress this spring.

Impact The 2016 third-overall pick cruised to a 3.25 ERA in 30 starts across his first two years in the league, but he stumbled to a 5.00 ERA in 22 outings last year. Still just 24 years old, there's plenty of time for him to recapture his previous form. It seems like he's doing the work to get there, as recent reports have also indicated that he's adjusted his delivery as well as his pitch mix. Even the revamped version of Anderson isn't a lock to open the year in Atlanta's rotation, however, as Mike Soroka (hamstring) and Bryce Elder will also get the chance to stake their claim.

Impact Soroka has dealt with more than his fair share of injuries recently, missing the majority of the last three seasons due to a pair of Achilles tears as well as arm issues, including a sore elbow which shut him down early last September.
