Ramón Urías - Goes deep in win Urias went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Sunday's 15-2 win over the Twins.
Impact Urias has hit safely in six of seven games in July, going 8-for-27 (.296) in that span. The infielder's power has largely been absent this year -- he has just four homers in 63 contests after posting 16 long balls in 118 games a year ago. He's at a .261/.328/.396 slash line with 30 RBI, 27 runs scored, 16 doubles and three stolen bases through 229 plate appearances. Urias could have some trouble maintaining regular playing time in the second half, though he should be able to compete with Adam Frazier at second base while also mixing in at third base and shortstop.

Aaron Hicks - Pops homer Sunday Hicks went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Sunday's 15-2 win over the Twins.
Impact Hicks was out of the starting lineup for a couple of days with Achilles soreness before returning Saturday. He rested his legs as the designated hitter Sunday and provided a blast to cap off a seven-run fifth inning for the Orioles. Hicks has hit .263 with six of his seven homers and 17 of his 22 RBI since joining the Orioles as a free agent following his release from the Yankees in late May. Despite the solid results, he'll have to stay sharp to maintain his playing time over top prospect Colton Cowser.

Austin Hays - Homers in blowout win Hays went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and an additional run scored in Sunday's 15-2 win over the Twins.
Impact Hays missed five games with a hip injury, and this was his second game back in the lineup. The outfielder has gone 10-for-42 (.238) over his last 12 contests, but it's a small bump in what's been an otherwise excellent campaign. He's at a .314/.355/.498 slash line with nine homers, 36 RBI, 45 runs scored, 22 doubles, two triples and two stolen bases through 78 games this season. Hays should continue to see a starting role in the outfield even with the Orioles trying to find time for Colton Cowser.

Adley Rutschman - Knocks homer in win Rutschman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Sunday's 15-2 win over the Twins.
Impact Rutschman has hit safely in seven of nine games in July, going 11-for-35 (.314) to begin the month. The All-Star catcher is up to 12 homers in 86 contests overall, one long ball shy of matching his total from 113 games a year ago. He's added 39 RBI, 44 runs scored, 13 doubles and a .273/.376/.423 slash line this season while maintaining a 14.4 percent walk rate and 15.4 percent strikeout rate.

Anthony Santander - Clubs pair of homers Santander went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs, a walk and three total runs scored in Sunday's 15-2 win over the Twins.
Impact Santander had two of the Orioles' six long balls in the contest. He'd gone 12 contests without a homer, hitting .261 over that span. The outfielder put an exclamation mark on a solid first half of the campaign that saw him slash .272/.342/.498 with 16 homers, 50 RBI, 46 RBI, two stolen bases and 24 doubles in 85 contests. His .840 OPS is second only to the .890 he posted over 37 games in the abbreviated 2020 campaign. Santander's strong hitting has helped him stay in the lineup even with the Orioles aggressively promoting prospects to the majors this year.

Kyle Gibson - Snaps skid Sunday Gibson (9-6) allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out 11 across seven innings to earn the win Sunday over the Twins.
Impact Gibson had given up 18 runs over his last 19.2 innings during a four-start winless skid. He received ample run support Sunday and did his part with an excellent performance that saw him match his season high in strikeouts. He has a 4.60 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 89:36 K:BB through 109.2 innings over 19 starts this season. He's done better at keeping the ball down this year, allowing just 10 home runs so far, though he's had some struggles allowing too many baserunners.

Grayson Rodriguez - Another strong outing at Triple-A Rodriguez pitched three scoreless innings Sunday for Triple-A Norfolk in a planned shorter outing heading into the All-Star break, Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact Rodriguez struck out a career-high 12 batters over six scoreless innings earlier this week against Durham and boasted a 1.83 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 51 strikeouts in 34.1 innings across his six most recent starts prior to Sunday. It would seem that he could rejoin the big-league rotation shortly after the break.

Jackson Holliday - Moving up to Double-A The Orioles promoted Holliday from High-A Aberdeen to Double-A Bowie on Sunday, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Impact Baltimore is using the final day before the All-Star break to move several youngsters up a rung on the minor-league ladder, and no promotion is more significant than that of Holliday, the top prospect in the system and perhaps all of baseball. The 19-year-old is on the move for the second time this season, as he showed no signs of slowing down after making the jump to Aberdeen following a 14-game stint with Single-A Delmarva to begin the campaign. Despite being one of the younger hitters in the South Atlantic League, Holliday turned in a .314/.452/.502 slash line while walking at a 19.5 percent clip and striking out in 20.8 percent of his 259 plate appearances. The young shortstop was also a menace on the basepaths, notching 17 steals in 24 attempts.

Impact The Norfolk lineup had a need for another power hitter after outfielder Colton Cowser was recently called up to the big leagues, and the 21-year-old should help fill some of that void. The corner-infield prospect slashed .310/.427/.609 with 17 home runs in 344 plate appearances at Bowie, doing so while maintaining a manageable 24.4 percent strikeout rate.

Impact Zimmermann was sent out to make room on the 26-man active roster for first baseman Ryan Mountcastle (vertigo), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Ryan Mountcastle - Returns from IL The Orioles reinstated Mountcastle (illness) from the 10-day injured list Sunday.
Impact Per Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com, Mountcastle won't be included in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale in Minnesota, but the 26-year-old at least appears to be fully healthy again after a prolonged bout with vertigo. According to Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun, Mountcastle disclosed that he had been experiencing symptoms of vertigo before landing on the 10-day injured list June 13, including light-headedness that made the baseball appear "pea-sized" when he was at the plate. The condition may explain in part why Mountcastle struggled prior to landing on the IL and early on during his extended minor-league rehab assignment, but he settled back into a groove toward the end of his time in the minors. Over the final eight games of his 12-game assignment at Triple-A Norfolk, Mountcastle hit .300 with a pair of extra-base knocks. Though he's out of the lineup Sunday, Mountcastle should reclaim a near-everyday role coming out of the All-Star break.

Tyler Wells - Earns seventh win Wells (7-4) earned the win Saturday, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over six innings against the Twins. He struck out four.
Impact Wells held the Twins to one run over the first five innings, which came across following a wild pitch from the right-hander. He would later allow a second run on a Donovan Solano double in the sixth before striking out the next two batters to end the inning. Wells has now allowed two runs in six of his last seven starts and has gone six innings in three straight.
