Impact Wieck has surgery in August to address his irregular heartbeat and entered spring training fully healthy, but the elbow strain will sideline him for the start of the 2022 campaign. The 30-year-old didn't allow a run over 17 innings for the Cubs last season before being sidelined by the heart issues.

Cleared for all activity Wieck (chest) was cleared for all baseball activity and is expected to be ready for spring training, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
Impact Wieck underwent surgery in late August to address his irregular heartbeat. He's made a full recovery and is currently working through a throwing program in Arizona to build back his arm strength. Prior to the surgery, Wieck had not allowed an earned run across 17 innings while striking out 28 in a relief role.
